Miss Yasmin

Dance School Principal

Miss Yasmin started dancing at a young age, at the age of 16 and after years of finding a love and passion for dance, Miss Yasmin completed a 3 year musical theatre course at Pattison's Theatre Arts, Coventry. During her training, Miss Yasmin took many teaching examinations, where she successfully gained her associate exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Gymnastics and Freestyle under the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). These achievements enabled her to become a fully registered professional dance teacher.

After graduating from dance college, Miss Yasmin performed professionally for many years. Her performance experience spans multiple styles, including Showgirl and Bollywood, performing at weddings, melas, mehndis, parties, and events across the UK. Miss Yasmin also performed as a backing dancer for Kanika Kapoor at the Apollo in London for the BBC Asian Network Live. She toured around the UK with Rat Pack Live theatre show and a professional travelling circus as a Showgirl dancer.

After many years of dreaming of running her own dance school, Miss Yasmin is incredibly proud to have created a happy, supportive dance environment for all of her students. Her aim is to provide exciting opportunities while passing on her love and passion for dance to every student she teaches.

Miss Sian

A.IDTA- Tap, Freestyle / L.IDTA- Ballet, Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft
Enhanced DBS, Safeguard Trained, Level 3 First Aid Trained, Licensed Chaperone

Dance Teacher

Miss Sian began dancing at a young age, quickly developing a passion that led her to compete in numerous competitions and win multiple titles, including at the prestigious TDCI Championships. From the age of 13, she assisted in dance classes at her local dance school, supporting younger students right up until she turned 18.


After completing her A Levels, Sian pursued professional training at Pattison College in Coventry, where she qualified as a dance teacher. She now holds a Licentiate qualification and continues to further her professional development, always aiming to pass on as much knowledge as possible to her students.
 

In 2022, she founded SianGurneyDance, offering workshops in Lyrical, Jazz, and Contemporary. She also works in several schools across Leicester, preparing students for exams, shows, festivals, and more—always with the goal of inspiring the next generation of
dancers.


Sian’s ultimate ambition is to become an IDTA examiner, and she remains dedicated to achieving this through ongoing training and commitment to excellence in dance education.

Miss Emma

Enhanced DBS, Safeguard Trained

Dance Teacher

​Miss Emma has completed her Professional Diploma in Modern and Tap and achieved Advanced 1 in Ballet under the BTDA syllabus. After graduating from professional Musical Theatre training at LCPA in 2015, she has worked professionally in the industry for over 10 years.

 

Her career has taken her across the UK as a Head Dancer for Parkdean Resorts and internationally, singing onboard P&O Cruises.

More recently, Miss Emma has been developing her career as a choreographer alongside performing her own tribute show,

"The Cher Experience".

Miss Emily

Dance Teacher

Miss Emily has been dancing for over 20 years, she grew up completing examinations in BTDA Modern, Tap, Ballet and Acrobatic and has completed her professional diploma in Modern Dance.

Growing up Miss Emily participated in several festivals and competitions, alongside performing in many annual shows and events.

Miss Emily graduated from her professional musical theatre training at LCPA in 2021 and then went on to complete a contract as a performer at Global Village in Dubai. She has performed in pantomimes at the Peepul Enterprise and The Little Theatre in Leicester as a senior dancer. Her dance experience has enabled her to have amazing opportunities such as modelling for the clothing brand ‘Hype’, advertising for Parkdean Resorts and acting as Head Girl during her time at LCPA.

Alongside these performance opportunities, she was a student helper in the dance classes at her childhood dance school.

 

More recently Miss Emily has become a teaching assistant in a primary school, running her own dance club and teaching dance PE lessons.

She is beyond excited to be bringing her knowledge and skills to Yasmin Amber School of Dance and can’t wait to work with such a wonderful team and talented students!
