2026 IDTA Exams
Dear parent,

It’s Exam Time!
Our exams are taken through the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), upon obtaining a pass result children will receive a report form, certificate and plaque per exam.
Exams will take place at Woodhouse Eaves Village Hall on Saturday 12th December (Ballet) and Sunday the 6th of December (Tap & Modern) with a compulsory exam rehearsal taking place on Sunday the 29th of November.

We would love for all Class 4 students to take their Grade 1 exams, as we feel they are capable of succeeding in the exam environment at this time and it would be a lovely achievement. However, exams are completely optional so participation is yours and your child’s choice.
Until the exam we need excellent class attendance and your child MUST be able to attend the compulsory exam rehearsal on the 29th of November, you will be given an exact slot closer to the time.

Please note students will go into their exam in groups and do not go in alone. Please note further details with your exam time slot/arrival time will follow shortly.
Subject to being ready, if your dancer would like to take part please complete the online reply form by:
Saturday 10th of October
GDPR: Information given in the reply form will be shared with the IDTA. For ease of giving out exam time slots- first name and surname initial if needed will be shared with parents only via email.

CLASS 5 Tuesday : students are aware of their level- Grade 2 Ballet (all), Grade 3 Tap (Lexi, Freya & Vivi)
CLASS 5 Thursday : Grade 4 Ballet

INFORMATION FOR EXAMS
UNIFORM NEEDED

CLASS 5 STUDENTS (Grade 2 & 4 Ballet):
Black leotard, plain black shorts bra (if needed), ballet tights & split sole canvas ballet shoes

CLASS 5 STUDENTS (Grade 3 Tap):
Black leotard, plain black shorts bra (if needed), logo leggings & lace up black leather tap shoes
​
​As most of you know, for the Graded exams the students get marked individually. They will get marked out of 100 under the following:
60 - Technique
20 - Performance
20 - Musicality

NOTES FOR EXAM DAY (06/12/26) SUNDAY:

Exams will be in the KGV room but parents and students will be able to prepare/wait in the main Village Hall room. This day is NOT drop off/pick up so please stay with your student.

Students will need to be at the hall a minimum of 30 minutes before the time slot shown, ready in full uniform with neat hair.

Students can go home straight after their exam/s.

Hair for all students will be a centre parting, slick, low bun.

No makeup, jewellery, nail polish, hair braids or temporary tattoos.

Ensure pants are hidden and can not be seen.

NOTES FOR EXAM DAY (12/12/26) SATURDAY:

We will only have the KGV room on this date so these exams will be drop off & pick up please.
